  1. Wow…truly stunning shots. I’m impressed. I’ve never been able to capture a butterfly mid-flight (though I have had luck with a hummingbird).

Thanks Mark, they are beautiful creatures aren’t they. I haven’t been able to capture hummingbirds, but another WP blogger has some great ones here http://theeffstop.com/. You should check them out.

Great pics. My daughter loved them 😃

    1. Honie Briggs says:

Nice! Yeah, us girls love butterflies…and clouds and little sandwiches. 🙂

        Sandwiches!!!
        Made me LOL 😄

Nice shots – love the light coming through their wings.

    1. Honie Briggs says:

Thank you. They were everywhere, I could hardly capture them – they were moving so quickly.

      1. artsifrtsy says:

I bet it’s tougher in the summer than in the spring when they lite longer to feed. The ones here are mostly beaten up now. the drought was hard on them. You did a great job capturing them.

        1. Honie Briggs says:

You’re right, I wonder if it’s because everything is more dry now that they flit from place to place looking for nectar. Thanks, I just about broke my neck trying not to trip over some large rocks. 🙂

Be careful out there, shooting swallowtails can be dangerous stuff:)

  6. Chaz says:

What kind of camera did you use?

    1. Honie Briggs says:

Nikon D90, Chaz, with an ED300 lens.

      1. Chaz says:

Nice camera and a not cheap lense. I like my Cannon.
