The goals of this blog are humble; a place for me to heal, share, discover. Each day I begin again. Most days are attitudinal, meant to be funny, inspiring, sometimes experimental. Looking back through earlier posts for a way to gauge if I’ve made any progress, I came across a post with some elements that had moved me even though it had received only three “likes.”

I loved this video of these young musicians from all over the world collaborating. It was perfect for the mood I was in, wanting to connect and needing a reason to keep writing.

Just like on the day of that original post, today has been a day to be reminded to persevere. This poem, also perfect for the mood of that day, and this, encourages me to press on, ever forward.

Will

There is no chance, no destiny, no fate,

Can circumvent or hinder or control

The firm resolve of a determined soul.

Gifts count for nothing; will alone is great;

All things give way before it, soon or late.

What obstacle can stay the mighty force

Of the sea-seaking river in its course,

Or cause the ascending orb of day to wait?

Each well-born soul must win what it deserves.

Let the fool prate of luck. The fortunate

Is he whose earnest purpose never swerves,

Whose slightest action or inaction serves

The one great aim. Why, even Death stands still,

And waits an hour sometimes for such a will.

-Ella Wheeler Wilcox

One of the bloggers who “liked” the original post is also an Indie Author. He follows and sometimes comments. I appreciate him, and realizing I’ve not done a post with a link to his blog, today S.W. Lothian (if that’s your real name) gets a shout out for his great sense of humor and perseverance. Thanks for hanging in there and continuing to stop by to let me know I gave you a laugh. S.W. has a series of books for readers who enjoy action and adventure fun for all ages.

Not to judge a book by the cover, ever, his books are sporting some pretty snazzy new threads.

Honie, I second Swlothian’s sentiments above. You always make me think and/or laugh. Poem was great — I needed that. Have a good one today. 🙂

Wow Honie, You’ve made my day (and it’s a cold day here) and I have a big smile from here to there. Your blog always has great posts, and your sense of humour is spot-on to make me LOL. Thanks so much for your support.
