The Blogging Hour

I am an over-thinker. It is my nature to analyze my own analysis. Unless I spontaneously evolve into an over-achiever there is nothing I can do about it. (Yes I paused here to analyze how spontaneous evolution could happen.) A friend of mine says that I am a surprise-achiever. To that end, I have been diligently building the necessary distribution channels and trying to educate myself on how to connect with readers who like books about smart, funny, amazing women. I asked my dear, kind, tolerant friends for “likes” so I could obtain the customized URL http://www.facebook.com/summoningthestrength.com. I emailed requests for customer reviews to those who indicated they might purchase my book if it was available at Amazon.com. For almost an hour, I built an author profile & book list. Then I started rating every single book I have ever read in listopia just so I could invite my friends to join me in rating their favorite books of all time, oh, and to be sure to include Summoning The Strength in their lists. (Project pending because I chose to create the Gallery Page at 5 a.m. this morning instead.) This after telling friends, family, and yes, even strangers that I was writing, revising, editing, reviewing, tweaking, or waiting for just one more final proof copy. Of course I said I would be sending them each a copy very soon. I have to say that I am feeling much like a woman who is helping one child sell Girl Scout cookies, one child sell holiday gift wrap, and a third one who is hawking magazine subscriptions so he can go to band camp. All while promising to bake four dozen cupcakes for the band boosters bake sale. Hence my most recent over-thinking exercise; to blog or not to blog. It is Sunday after all, and I could while away the day on the sofa with a good book or take a bubble bath or a nap! I have poured every bit of my passion, appetite, and sleep-deprived self into writing my book. I loved it, every bit. Now I just have to figure out how to get everyone else to say they love it too. (Okay, maybe not everyone.)

Summoning The Strength is available at Honie’s E-Store and Amazon.com. Get a copy to keep and one to share with the amazing women in your life.
